Winter Hunts
Winter Wolf and Coyote hunts (rifle) in
December, January and February are conducted on outfitters
trapline with 2 ski-doos,
2 quads, complete with sleighs.
Bredeson's provide heated and comfortable 7x7x6 wood and
aluminum blinds complete with shooting benches, sliding windows and chairs. Hunters are taken there by ski-doo
or argo one hour before daylight and
left for the day and picked up after
dark.
If two hunters are
booked each hunter will be provided
with their own blind a few miles
apart, or they may stay together in
one blind and move to another blind
after 2 or 3 days, depending on wolf
movement. Hunters supply their own
sleeping bag and personal gear.
Everything else is supplied
including food, lodging,
transportation while hunting,
airport pickup, and skinning and
salting of hides.
Wolves come in different colors
and weigh 75 - 170 lbs.
Hunting Weather
The weather can drop down to 30 degrees below F. on these hunts, so warm clothing and footwear, ski-doo mitts, and face masks are a must.
Snow conditions can be from 6 inches
to 3 feet.
Please Note
Hunters successful in harvesting 1 or 2 wolves must pay a $20.00 Canadian fee for a Federal Export Permit plus shipping charges. Hunters must leave the trophy with Bredesons while the cities permit is sent to Ottawa. It takes approximately 3 to 6 weeks to get the cities permit and send the salted trophy to the hunter. Bredeson Guiding & Outfitting has access to a taxidermist who will mount trophies here in Alberta if desired.
